Inspired by the new
level of interest in developing and using LCA-based Environmental
Product
Declarations to engage in product improvement and communicate the new
achievements to the marketplace, The Green Standard President &
CEO Deborah Dunning announced formation of the Global Products Alliance
on April 29, 2010. The occasion was the forum on The New Way to Define Green co-hosted by TGS with the Institute for Construction &
the Environment in Germany. Some 50 leaders
from education, government, and industry attended this event held at
the headquarters of the American Institute to Architects.
The primary goals of The
Green Standard Global Products Alliance are threefold:
- Create a special website
providing the best available information on resources available to
manufacturers
and purchasers of products on LCAs and EPDs
- Develop monthly webinars
for Alliance members featuring core principles and their practical
application
in diverse types of building projects.
- Plan an annual forum on
The New Way to Define Green
to bring together diverse shareholders to
learn about new and profitable resources
Membership fees are on a
sliding scale based on the user's type of organization and provide the organization access to the programs for one year. A single membership purchase provides access for a single network user. (feel free to project and/or distribute content to other team members as needed)
