The first EPD posted by InterfaceFLOR in The Green Standard System in June 2009 featured Convert, a modular carpet with post-consumer Type 6,6 Nylon content, provided all relevant product performance
information in a third party verified EPD. After publication of their first EPD, InterfaceFLOR continued development of additional post-consumer content products in the Convert design platform. In cooperation with their supplier, they were able to incorporate post-consumer Type 6 Nylon content and with supplier support, developed an additional EPD for these products. The EPDs provided an excellent opportunity to highlight the specific environmental attributes of these products which represented significant technological advancements in carpet recycling.
