What is The Green Standard?
The Green Standard is a not for profit organization founded in 2000 to advance sustainable production and consumption, using life-cycle based resources. We provide education, technology and training for manufacturers and purchasers on product eco-design, certification and purchase and often work collaboratively with other organizations to develop tools that are innovative yet practical.
We work in open and transparent ways on these resources, using best practices in consensus-based development to insure stakeholder participation. Click here to learn more about the resources we’ve created to serve a broad range of professionals:
  • For purchasers: the “EPA KnowRoom”, the first EPD System in the U.S. featuring diverse product performance information on one screen, and the Green Purchasing Accredited Professional Training.
  • For manufacturers: seminars on “Using LCA for Everyday Business Decisions”, training on free openLCA software, and the EPD System
  • For all: the yearlong learning program with opportunities to work with thought leaders in the Sustainability Innovators Circle
