The Green Standard is managed by a Board of Directors representing diverse stakeholder groups: educational institutions, government, industry, not for profit entities and professional service firms.
Ellen Hall has more than ten years experience in marketing to the interior design community. At The Green Standard, she develops communication strategies for diverse audiences and stakeholders, including manufacturers and purchasers of interior building products.
She creates marketing collateral to build visibility for TGS’ programs and services and to advance product eco-design, often distilling highly technical information into digestible segments. Additionally, she assists with developing programs to help purchasers understand the importance of using scientifically-based, third-party verified information when evaluating interior furnishings. Her work includes message design, event management, media relations, research and database development.
Previously, Ellen was publications editor and conference manager at the San Francisco Mart, where she developed educational programs for interior designers, including the Live Green, Live Well sustainable home furnishings conference and expo. Ellen was editor of the quarterly publication Design Lines, a full-color trend newsletter with distribution in Northern California, and her work has been published in Interiors & Sources’ “The Green Guide to NeoCon” and K+BB. She graduated with honors from the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas.
